It is a constant reminder to her of how truly beautiful she is. Also of how thoughtful God was in creating her.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This May for the first time we exhibited our products at the <a href="http://www.creonline.co.uk/" target="_blank">Christian Resource Exhibition</a></div>
This exhibition was for four days.<br />
As a new company we wanted to make our presence known. To get our products known.<br />
It been an amazing journey so far to come from having a vision for interior decoration using embroidery with a focus on the word of God.<br />

Finally set up.... you can imagine the excitement I am feeling right now. As first timers, the atmosphere was daunting at first, however we were relived after the enthusiasm shown by delegates on seeing the products on display.<br />

<br />
<br />
You could literally spend all day looking at this canvass.<br />
Its an extra large size of 40"x20" (100cmx50cm) frame size.<br />
The idea for this is for churches to display this in the church hall or corridor.<br />
Could also be displayed on one side of the wall in homes......hopefully on a plain wall so it can be the main attraction. <br />
All embroidered of course!zoeopehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08266146417235773311noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2564543378458201714.post-57929126850057653752015-05-17T15:14:00.000-07:002015-05-17T15:14:18.625-07:00Faux leather canvass<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This is our first faux leather canvass......<br />
This is more beautiful in real life than depicted in this picture.<br />
The leather has got a soft feel and a smooth shine to it.<br />
Touching it almost gives a feeling of trying to read braille ......I could say the raised embroidery even works better with leather.zoeopehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08266146417235773311noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2564543378458201714.post-63571357005537194012015-04-16T10:48:00.003-07:002015-04-16T10:48:57.083-07:00With God........<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This season is the easiest to make clothes for. You can get away with not lining dresses. I can't believe how many elastic waist skirts, and maxi dresses I have made already.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdF5UV2bHDcB8hJ1FP4jaNE-IHNqVmcqpxbGbH_H95ahtdmeQBSrukDHnNvHf4eNBkgJTILTGDJLX6O6zMaQpsC499EOke9Kwj9L5RDBKkEYrJkK5OqqrsL3s7J3o7Q4pddrjMyY-QuImx/s1600/DSC_0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdF5UV2bHDcB8hJ1FP4jaNE-IHNqVmcqpxbGbH_H95ahtdmeQBSrukDHnNvHf4eNBkgJTILTGDJLX6O6zMaQpsC499EOke9Kwj9L5RDBKkEYrJkK5OqqrsL3s7J3o7Q4pddrjMyY-QuImx/s640/DSC_0005.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: left;">I made a pink tutu skirt for the girls because I know how much they like to dress like princesses.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Used this no sew <a href="http://treasuresfortots.blogspot.co.uk/2009/11/easy-no-sew-tutu-tutorial-giveaway.html" target="_blank">treasures for tots tutu tutorial</a> and was I glad I didn't have to sew it.. yes!! Strange cos I thought I loved sewing. (Guess it was on project that couldn't go wrong if no sewing is involved)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I took a plain pink t shirt and applied some diamanté iron on. Made a 'star' on one shirt and 'heart' on the other to add some 'shine'</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyway I bought this 6" tulle roll of 100 yards and used pretty much everything for the two tulles. Using the tutorial above (which was pretty easy and straight forward) I made mine with a finished length of 13". If making this tulle skirt my advice is that add a few more inches to the length you use as the tulle tends to compress itself and look shorter than it actually is.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Been really busy sorting out our collection that's why we have not been in the blog world lately.</div>

Made this dress well over a year ago, but i just love it so much i have to blog about it.<br />
Was made using butterick's 4967 pattern.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="B4967" height="320" src="http://butterick.mccall.com/filebin/images/product_images/Full/B4967.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="303" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Butterick 4967</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Made the yellow version. Fabric used is cotton fabric but with light flowery embroidery design.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8qz_ZRp7BkHHYvWOlp6B-nnIna3zn_pWoi4ZSAVLC7wz5JWyITJY86l5oSwULTS3mcgglAo7tURzAZ5T7WFN4-2Rf0TnNoNmYb8JRxL490sIxKKlZpAre2pEydCK56merNzUeRWQqyfDZ/s1600/DSC02527.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8qz_ZRp7BkHHYvWOlp6B-nnIna3zn_pWoi4ZSAVLC7wz5JWyITJY86l5oSwULTS3mcgglAo7tURzAZ5T7WFN4-2Rf0TnNoNmYb8JRxL490sIxKKlZpAre2pEydCK56merNzUeRWQqyfDZ/s400/DSC02527.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
The instructions in the pattern are quite simple and straight foward.<br />

Ribbon trim came about when I wanted to hem and found hemming very difficult.( go figure, circle skirt) I then took the ribbon sewed it on to the edge without even folding it down. Luckily fabric didn't fray that much.<br />

We went to Paris for a wedding this August. One of the themes of the wedding was to wear something purple and since I was blessed (given) this fabric earlier in the year, i decided to use it for myself and the girls. Also made a trouser with waistcoat for the boy but that is not featured here.<br />
<div>
By the way temperatures that weekend reached up to (38°C = 100.4°F). It was sooo hot. So the frowns in the pictures are not real frowns :) but due to the sun.</div>

Top bodice and peplum of my dress is self drafted. :) yes, I am planning to eventually move away from store bought patterns because they are so limiting in designs and size variations.</div>

Why the ribbon running down the centre front of the girls you say? Well i realised after cutting the top pattern that it was slightly bigger than i wanted, so i sewed about 1/4th inch seam allowance right sides together and ended up with a line down the centre which i covered with the ribbon. I just love this pattern. Truly an amazing fit. (well in my opinion.)<br />
Navy blue lace trim added at the empire waistline as a little design detail.<br />

Who knows tomorrow.?<br />
Tell me exactly how you day will go tomorrow, hour by hour...<br />
who will you walk past on the road, when will your phone ring and who will be calling.<br />
and if after tomorrow it goes exactly as planned; <span style="background-color: white;">please let me know.!!</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our world is so developed...<br />
Our technology has taken us very far.<br />
Almost everything can be done with the click of a button.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid Intellient key" height="265" src="http://0.tqn.com/d/alternativefuels/1/7/-/4/-/-/07Altima_keyfob.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="400" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">Starting a car with the push of a button</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
We know what is happening in other parts of the world...
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img height="200" src="http://polk.uwex.edu/files/2011/08/AGbreaking-news1.jpg" width="200" />
</div>
<div>
Just as it is happening or after it has happened.<br />
All our technology cannot tell us what will happen before it happens.<br />
<br />
Even the weather man gets it wrong sometimes.<br />
<br />
<img src="https://encrypted-tbn1.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQqzvEBt0rbVK7RythLdxD1ajGi-a_ZApNy_fzWKr2b1yHGN7N-" />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
Needless to say not one of us knows <b>exactly</b> what will happen tomorrow.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div>
By the end of tomorrow, would you be able to say categorically, I knew everything that was going to happen to me today, how and when it was going to happen even before it did.</div>
<br />
not to mention next week,next month, next year....<br />
<br />
Yet The Creator knows what will happen at the end of a thing even from its beginning. !!!<br />
Wouldn't you like to know<span style="background-color: white;"> Him so he can give you tips and hints, sometimes even tell you what will happen and generally point you in the right direction for your life. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
...</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

I have wanted to make the girls a<i> summer</i> jacket since the begining of summer ! Finally got around to making it. Normally i love "<span style="font-family: inherit;">quick and easy"</span> but with this project i decided to spend more time...</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
...so I decided to make a fully lined jacket to include a collar and pockets. Buttons on sleeve hem and shirring was also added later. Shirring came about when I decided the jacket was a bit big and wanted to make it fitted. Buttons on hem came about when 'daddy' said the jacket needed 'extra wow factor.!'</div>

<br />
Added a bit more colour by inserting this colourful striped fabric into the purple fabric to make the pockets.<br />
<div>
See, I did take my time. Remember I had to make two of everything. The shirring bit was done 8!! times, i.e done on left and right sides, thats 4 times and separately for lining also.<br />
<br />
So why did I call this a 'dress jacket' you say? well its the length of a dress.<br />
In hind sight a summer jacket shouldn't be knee length rather just below the waist. Not a problem we will use this for autume then, ha.<br />
Thanks for reading. Hope you have been inspired.<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
Was quite excited when I came up with the idea of mixing this little yardage of lace I had with satin left over from the girls <a href="http://www.zoeeden.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/birthday-in-gold-and-organza.html" target="_blank">birthday dress</a>. As I got a bit tired of making (waistline) gathered dresses I wanted a full circle skirt...<br />

First time making a puff sleeve, it took about an hour to make four sleeves!! </div>

I gathered sleeve cap as normal and used shirring elastic to make three rows of shirring to the sleeve hem. I love how it turned out though.</div>

Had a bit of issue getting a smooth line at the centre back when attaching the invisible zip to the skirt. (where the crease is). I sewed on zip three !! times, but still no luck and i just gave up. Does anyone know why this happens? never had problems with satin before now. :(<br />

Little flower detail added to the side.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Overall this turned out pretty OK, but I just don't feel a connection (if am allowed to say that!) with this outfit.</div>
<div>
Maybe its the (plain) colour or I had higher expectations...</div>
<div>
Can't even put my finger on it.</div>
<div>
Anyway its done and they will wear it. Sure they will like the full skirt. :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
With regards to a comment I received from <a href="http://marieinthecave.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Marie</a>, I always make two of everything but sometimes I use one girl (the more willing one) for a photo shoot because it is faster and easier to deal with one than two. :)</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Let me explain.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is a fully lined dress. i made sure the length of the lining was shorter than length of dress fabric.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I sewed the hem seam before the waist seam.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Putting both fabric and lining together using normal seam allowances I sewed an elastic round the fabric +lining to create the gathers at the hem. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
when this was turned right side up, the bubble was formed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Main principle is because lining is shorter than fabric, after it is sown together, lining pulls up the dress fabric and a bubble is form.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sorry no pictures to explain, if you interested in full tutorial, let me know and will arrange one.</div>

Actually made dress in February. Was going to add extra details using same colour brown velvet fabric for a bow. I looked for over month and couldn't get brown velvet in the exact same shade!!!</div>

Plan b was use any dress fabric in same shade. found that and bow was made.</div>

</div>
One of the people that inspired me into colour blocking is Erica B. <a href="http://www.ericabunker.com/2012/03/what-im-wearing-colorblocked-shift.html" target="_blank">http://www.ericabunker.com</a><br />
<div>
decided to use the jubilee colours or Tommy's (navy blue, white and red) which ever you prefer. lol</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Its was one week to my birthday and I realized I didn't have anything to wear!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
well I mean, nothing new. lol. ok, I then decided to make something, simple, quick but of course nice!!!</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used butterick 5463, the long sleeve orange version. this I made longer to turn it into a dress.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In case you think I did the lace inserts, no. The lace detail was part of the fabric border print.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One thing that actually took time was cuting out the fabric. Although it was just two pieces, one front one back, then the sleeves and facings for the neck. I adjusted the pattern neck, (original neck was too wide for me) making sure the front and back lace part lined up took some time.</div>

Well, I decided to make something for my son. Last time I tried making him a trouser it took two days with a lot of headache and rough finishing on the inside. This time around I made him this waistcoat and trouser in navy blue corduroy. The process was surprisingly smooth, consumed a few hours (about 4hrs) and the inside is very neatly done and finished with the overlocker.<br />

This part of my blog is not sewing related. Over here I share my reflections, thoughts and experiences...<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">The Sun</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The sun rises from the east and sets in the west...</span><br />
<br />
<img height="300" src="http://www.cybercauldron.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/big-orange-sun-4.jpg" width="400" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">When the sun sets the moon and stars take over. Everyday.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">That seems more like clockwork to me.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">If it is "clockwork" is it then a random occurrence?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Won't be random if it has happened everyday for as long as man can tell.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">If it is not random,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">then is it planned?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">If it is planned, by whom?</span>zoeopehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08266146417235773311noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2564543378458201714.post-16396625271616217132012-04-30T06:14:00.001-07:002013-06-06T13:08:58.520-07:00Red and Black check dress<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This dress is not lined but finished using bias binding on the neck and armholes, I pleated the skirt instead of flare as on the pattern. Seeing a trend with pleats??..... Overlocked on the inside.</div>

I originally added the button row in the middle but that design lasted about 15minutes!!! The girls ripped it off!<br />
<div>
So I decided to just leave that feature out. Or do you think I should have put it back, more securely?</div>
<div>

I seem to fancy a-line dresses, lol. Anyway I am planning a summer coat for the girls and its also going to be an a-line design. I am really looking forward to it.</div>

Hope you enjoyed reading. Nice to have you here.</div>

<br />
Saw this fabric in the shops and fell in love with it. Seems a bit dull so I decided to mix it up with some gold. Mixing up fabric is well up my street as you will notice soon. :-)
The fabric does fray a bit (as in a lot) so I've had to overlock every bit of the inside.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtPmQQajWiJafz64KlJUIP8VS1U4gI1jON08UfyRcSbmDrzsPj2vSKF4iL-kcKS2LX8_BoE4vyTIFuw1xwfP8jCDKTNs_87qLlP5oKAiLENOwQg4_3b8ds-QyK5Zh-v2vNBgk-0o-zb6Yj/s1600/DSC01812.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtPmQQajWiJafz64KlJUIP8VS1U4gI1jON08UfyRcSbmDrzsPj2vSKF4iL-kcKS2LX8_BoE4vyTIFuw1xwfP8jCDKTNs_87qLlP5oKAiLENOwQg4_3b8ds-QyK5Zh-v2vNBgk-0o-zb6Yj/s320/DSC01812.JPG" width="284" /></a></div>
Can the see the gold 'infuse' on the sleeve?
Copied the idea from a vogue pattern, would have added pictures but can't seem to find pattern image on their site anymore. The sun is making the fabric look faded, it does look better in real life.<br />

<br />
Notice the 'look' of the back? That was also from another vogue pattern which has pleats at the skirt back edgestitched for about 5" in length only. This design is not so obvious from a distance due to the fabric pattern.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Don't ask me why i am wearing boots on a seemingly sunny day. lol</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
When I checked the weather forecast before leaving home it was supposed to be a cold day. As the day wore on, the sun came out and it got warmer. How embarrassing to be in such hot boots. lol<br />
<br />
<br />
Overall I am very happy with this dress, it took two days and was very uneventful. (isn't that what we always want.) I.e things went smoothly just as predicted. Well except for one little detail.
I wanted full long sleeves with this dress, assumed pattern piece was, joined sleeves to bodice only to find out it was 3/4 in length, ha aha, but it still looked good. <br />
<br />
Until the next inspiration, the next creation...<br />
